Brandon Pacheco at the Hamilton Music Awards Rising Star Search

On Friday November 18th I competed and performed at the 2011 Hamilton Music Awards Rising Star Search Competition at the McIntyre Theatre at Mohawk College in Hamilton.

There were 11 performers including soloists, a quartet and bands from the Hamilton area. Everyone had amazing talent, and we rocked the place. The audience loved every minute of it.

While the judges deliberated, one of the judges, the famous John Ellison who wrote the classic, “Some Kind of Wonderful” treated the audience to an impromptu performance. As the night ended, there could be no doubt that each of the nominated rising stars deserved their place on that stage.

So I guessing you want to know who won? … Read further on.

The house was filled with humour, music, rock, folk, punk, pop, r&b, contemporary, and so much more.

So, what did I perform?

I started out performing Broke Up which went really well. Then I surprised the audience with something I have been keep a secret from you guys all summer. My friends from Creative Edge Dance Studio and Fit For a Feast joined me on stage for Take Your Time.

The four girls and I, took the whole stage… I mean the whole stage. I have been training in hiphop dance all summer, and these girls are amazing. They made my performance so incredibly amazing.

I hope you can see me dance soon.

As for the winner? Sorry guys maybe next time! Congratulations to Illusion Avenue for an incredible performance. And for everyone who competed in this event, you are all talented.

Thank you for everyone who supported me and to Hamilton Music Awards for allowing me to perform.

Brandon Pacheco Interview with Cadence Canada

In one of my first interviews I made in the spring of 2011, Cadence Canada which is an online Canadian Entertainment magazine, asked me about my debut EP Broke Up.

Cadence Canada Did you always want to be a singer? What made you realize you wanted to be one?

I wanted to be a singer after my mom went blind, because she used to sing to me when I was younger. And when she went blind and she was crying, I would sing to her, and then make her feel better. So, then I realized that, like, when I sang, that it touched people and it made them happy, so ever since then I wanted to be a singer. And that happened when I was six.
